Dad gave us a task to do yesterday just before lunch was cooked. He gave us a toy, a dog display to "restore" or "repaint" to make it look like brand new. And I thought toy restoration was difficult but I'm wrong. Repainting an old toy like ours is not difficult at all even though it's made out of felt and some thin plastic I guess. I don't know if we used the right type of paint but it just worked.
Drawing is one of my childhood hobbies aside from crafting. I loved drawing and I think I got that from my dad. He has the talent and I certainly admire his works. When I was a kid, I used to draw stick figures and abstract designs. Then, it began to somehow improve when we had this Music.Arts.P.E. subject and an Arts day as I called it. The Arts day was every Friday and it was a good thing that our school did for children to develop their artistic abilities. Every Friday back then, would be like a talent enhancement day. We would play different games and made artworks half the day. And I think that was the time that I started to love arts and crafts. Then, during my high school years, my classmates used to compliment my works (thanks for that!). But I told myself, that my works are just amateur and I still had a long way to go and learn techniques to improve my ability. I don't actually consider it a talent because I know it needs a lot of improvement. But yeah, thanks to those who liked my works, because of you guys I gained confidence and it really touched my heart. However, as I aged I haven't found time to draw. I missed drawing so much that I tried looking for something new.
"Drawing is a form of visual art that makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Common instruments include graphite pencils, pen and ink, inked brushes, wax color pencils, crayons, charcoal, chalk, pastels, various kinds of erasers, markers, styluses, and various metals (such as silverpoint). An artist who practices or works in drawing may be called a draftsman or draughtsman."(Wikipedia).
Here's what I found today while looking over my Tumblr archive, a cool "Real To Do List" that's easy to make, fun and challenging to do. It is about the real things that we should do for life. It is cute and lovely.

Hi there! today I was really having a hard time keeping my savings safe on its box. I was really a spender at times. I had difficulty in handling cash. If I have some on my pocket I would spend all of them without even knowing. Then, when I got home that was the time to get disappointed and all.
But I am not this type of spender who buys expensive clothes or bags. I just bought what's enough for me and what I really need at that point. But still it was not a good habit (I know that ) because as I said I won't realize the money that I spent until I got home and checked my purse. I wanted to end this spending and prevent myself from throwing away what little savings I had right now.
Here's the scenario. I have 3 sibs and we had our own savings at home and I had the smallest amount because I immediately spent my money if I gained some. Sometimes for food, clothes or just anything I find necessary when I was at the mall. I don't buy expensive stuff just the average ones. I am still practical at some point. However, most of the time, when me and my sibs went to the mall I was the one who spent larger than them. Little savings. Big expenses. (-.-;) I really have to find a way to prevent me from spending much.
After that it came to my mind, why don't I try first to monitor my savings and expenses. In that way I would know where I spent the money and how much did I gave away for that piece of anything. It sounds a great idea for me. This would be a good step if I really want to be thrifty.
The point of monitoring your savings (or the money you have at home, on your piggy bank or under your cabinet but not the money you deposited in the bank) is for you to know where you spent much and how much money you spent each time you get hold of your savings.
Welcome back to school! The new school year has begun and I'm sure students out there had fun buying new books and new school supplies. That was the thing to look forward to when you are still studying, aside from new classmates, teachers and friends to make. But how about those old notebooks and scratch papers that were left untouched. Pieces of bond papers and colored papers you bought last school year that you did not use. They should not be left in the cabinet with dust.
Nowadays, students should be practical and economical to help their parents save money. Tuition fees are increasing and it's hard to earn money at the present. So, don't go wasting anything that you spent your money with. Instead of buying new notebooks, why don't you put all the spare pages and come up with a new one.
That was my idea on mind when I did this DIY recycled notepad. I was looking for ways to reuse my old research papers instead to sending them to the junk shop (which is also a good idea). I had a lot of research when I was in college and they all piled up in a corner of our room and got dusty and turned yellow. I was bothered about the money I spent just to print those papers that's why I had difficulty sending it to junk shops. So, what I did, I looked for ideas to recycle them.
This DIY recycled notepad is easy to make (like all the crafts I made here on my blog). Just follow the steps and you'll have a pretty new notepad to use in school. Notepads are very helpful especially for students. It saves time and you'll surely won't miss a thing your teachers says when you have your notepad and pen on hand.
