DIY Face Mask

Thought I might share this with you guys!

I just came in from a walk around the neighborhood and I can't believe how the traffic just reached our subdivision. Mismong sa looban traffic. Nakakapanibago. Our street used to be peaceful and quiet, perfect nga for biking. But lately, laging mahaba un linya ng mga sasakyan, maingay at polluted na.

I don't know maybe it's because of the road construction going on or Valenzuela just got busier.

Anyway, what I wanted to share is how to make this DIY Face Mask that I came up with. I just did this for about 20 mins. And no sewing machine needed. Super usok kasi at di rin natin masasabi kung sinu-sino ang makakasalamuha natin sa daan araw-araw. So, this is a perfect gear. Washable pa so makakatipid ka din.

Just in time din ito ngayong December kasi I'm sure ma-istuck kayo sa traffic sa Edsa, sa siksikan sa Divisoria at sa bugso ng tao sa LRT/MRT.

DIY Face Mask
Materials:

Spare fabric (you can use old shirts as fabric as well..and try to measure a 6.5 by 3.5 inches rectangle for the face cover and 2 pcs of 9 x 1 inches rectangle that will serve as the string you can attach to your ears)

needle and thread that matches your fabric

pair of scissors

some pins

Here's what to do: (Skills: beginner sewing skill)

Cut out the fabric you desire to use in two sets to make sure that your mask will filter the dust thoroughly. Then put them back to back and sew the 1st side together (the one measuring 6.5 inches).

After that, sew the side across it. And turn it inside out.

Now, let's make the strings first.

Get the fabric for the strings and cut it out. Fold it lengthwise. Then, sew the sides together.

Use a safety pin to turn the fabric inside out.

Then, repeat to the other piece of fabric.

Now, sew the 1st string on the right side of the face cover. Make sure to sandwich it in on the 2 layers of the face cover.

Then, sew the other string on the left side.

And you're done.

I hope this will be useful to you guys. Kesa bumili pa kayo. You can do-it-yourself naman. Plus by doing this DIY you can choose your own color and add embellishments or patches. It's all up to you. With this DIY wala ako nagastos. Tira-tirang tela, used needle and thread lang din.
