How to make a little doily

by - Saturday, October 13, 2012

Hi guys! I'm gonna share with you another simple and easy crochet pattern here on Misselayneous Things. The pattern I'm talking about is how to make a little doily like this one.

This is perfect for beginners out there. The things we need are the following: a crochet thread (the color is up to you), a hook (depends on the size of your thread) and a pair of scissors.

How To:

Chain 4 and sl st to the 1st chain to make a ring.

Round 1:  8 hdc to the ring and sl st to the 1st stitch. (8)
Round 2: Chain 2, 2 dc on each stitch and join with a sl st to the 1st stitch. (16)
Round 3: Chain 4, sl st to the 2nd stitch from the hook. Repeat this until you reach the 1st stitch. Secure with another sl st. (9sets)
Round 4: Chain 2, make 4 dc.  Chain 2 and sl st to the next set. Repeat this until you reach the 1st st of the 1st set. Join with a sl st. (9sets of 4 dc)
Round 5: Chain 2, make 1 dc on each stitch and 2 dc on 2 chains. Sl st to 1st st. (45)
Round 6: Chain 2, 1 dc on each stitch and join end with sl st to the 1st stitch. (45)
Round 7: Chain 2, 1 dc on each stitch. Join end with sl st. * Insert extra double crochets if your doily started to crumple.
Round 8: Chain 8, sl st to the 6th stitch from hook. Chain 8 again and sl st to 6th st from hook. Repeat until you reach the other end. Sl st to the 1st st. (10 sets)
Round 9: Sl st to 1st set, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 2 triple crochets, 2 dc, 1 hdc, sl st, sl st to next set and repeat the pattern until you reach the last set. Join ends with sl st. Lock the thread in place.

Sl st = slip stitch
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet

I hope you'll enjoy the pattern I made. I don't know but I just made the pattern in just a few minutes and I found that cute with curvy glasses. You can make as many as you want and with any color you opted. This is also perfect for gifts or souvenirs.
