Life Lately

by - Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Hi guys! How's everyone?

I had a very busy month and I'm sorry if I wasn't able to make any DIY tutorial lately.

But for now, here's a short update about my crafting life. As you can see below, I was preoccupied with hair styling, then I made three crochet projects, the school shirt I've tried to re-style and my bamboo flute.

LIFE LATELY

Crochet Project #1: I've never tried making a round-bottom coin pouch and so I was itching to make one after seeing lots of inspiration on the web. And here's my finish product. I made the pattern using double crochets.

Crochet Project #2: My very own Crochet Barefoot Sandals. I know this has been a hit for crocheters and I found lots of ideas on the web as well. From simple to complex patterns or you can make your own, so, I definitely made my own. I used the butterfly pattern I learned from YouTube and then, experimented on the number of chains to make the straps. Of course, this is just a simple pattern, but you can add beads and other crochet appliques to make it more unique.

This is supposed to be a tutorial on how to re-style a free-sized shirt. However, it became a failed craft. Because I haven't achieved the look that I really wanted. But still the outcome is not bad right? I can still wear my school shirt the comfortable way and without being too baggy on me.

Crochet Project #3: This is the crochet project I started last June, but I haven't had the time to finish it off. It's a Crochet Sling Purse made out of Granny Squares. I'm planning to assemble it soon and add lining inside. If possible, I'll make a tutorial on this.

And then, here are some of the hair styling I've learned from Pinterest. I've been practicing these on my sister's hair and these are pictures on our first try.

These are the links on these hair styling techniques:

Lastly, I'm playing my Bamboo Flute again. I had this when I was in the elementary grade. We used to have flute lessons before. And just a few days ago, I came upon a site with Bamboo Flute tutorials. I was surprised that a site like that exists. I'm glad and thankful now, that I could play my flute again. I'm currently studying the notes of "Safe and sound" and "Crazier" by T. Swift.

And that was my life lately, I hope you got some inspiration. I know it's not much but that's all I did the past few days aside from reviewing. Plus, the weather here in Manila have gotten worst. It's the rainy season and it was hard to do anything other than to lie on bed and read my books.

Have a great day!

  1. Oh my!!! You are just too true to be good. How do you manage to write and research on such wonderful things? You have inspired me to work harder now. I shall try as much as possible to enjoy life to the fullest and be satiated with the wonderful things that are around me, which I have been unaware of until now.
